Who We Are
Youth Ministry News

We are getting off to a GREAT start with some new faces and fun activities.   Please refer to the Youth Ministry calendar to keep you informed of upcoming events.

Please stop in to the Library and check out our new flat screen television, made possible by the St. John's Youth Ministry tag sale and coffee sales.  Thanks to Marisa Daley, Chris Howard and all the parents that worked so hard sorting items, setting up, pricing, donating and all other tasks that go into putting on a successful tag sale.  The Youth Group and the PK - 3rd graders have already enjoyed using our new screen and I know the Mid Group (7th - 11th) has big plans for upcoming movies.  Thank You all So Much!

Coffee Justice

St. John’s continues to offer for sale fair trade organic coffee in a variety of roasts during the Sunday morning coffee hour in the upper room. You may also make a purchase Monday – Friday by stopping by the Youth Minister’s office.

Consider taking home a pound (or two) for yourself or as a gift. Proceeds benefit the Youth Ministry program and support the farmers of Chiapas.

Please help in other ways, too!

Monday's After School Youth Group has been meeting to discuss ways they can make an impact on their community.  We have talked about helping the homeless, supporting our troops, shoveling snow and raking leaves for the elderly and writing letters in support of people in need.  As we build a relationship with one another, we will keep you informed of what our community outreach will be and look for your prayers and support as we learn what it means to be a contributing member of a group, as well as, contributing members of our community.  Please refer to the Youth Ministry Calendar for Youth Group dates:   We will not be meeting on October 12th, Columbus Day and October 19th.  We will be planning a Sweet Brook Bingo and Pizza night on Wednesday October 14th.

Pizza and Sweetbrook Bingo

The second Wednesday of every month is set aside for trips to Sweet Brook, and all youth in the fourth grade and above are invited to begin the evening in the library of St. John’s at 6:00 p.m. for Hot Tomatoes pizza. After we offer our bellies the gift of the best pizza around, we’ll head on over for some bingo, returning to St. John’s at 7:45 p.m. Donations of small stuffed animals and quarters are needed as gifts to our friends at Sweet Brook. Drivers and chaperones are also needed, so please leave word at the church office (458-8144) if you can help.
